BCBS Tennessee Gets in the Groove with Pandora

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is sponsoring a Pandora music station. Pandora is an Internet radio site that streams to computers and mobile devices using the Music Genome Project to identify listeners' preferences.

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is sponsoring a Pandora music station. Pandora is an Internet radio site that streams to computers and mobile devices using the Music Genome Project to identify listeners' preferences.

BCBS Tennessee's station is meant to encourage exercise, offering options for three different energy levels when working out: "mellow beats," "music for moving" and "100 percent exertion."

The goal of the site is to encourage more intense, effective workouts for policyholders, the company says, citing a study from the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, which found that music helps increase endurance when people exercise.
