Symetra Appoints New VP of Life Sales

Symetra Life Insurance Company (Belleview, Wash.) has named Phil Bouvier VP of life insurance sales.

Bouvier, who was last national VP of the individual insurance division at Sun Life Financial (Boston) is responsible for increasing sales of Symetra’s advanced planning individual life insurance products through new distribution outlets, including brokerage general agencies and independent life professionals. He will assemble a new wholesaling team to support life distributors and report to Jon Curley, EVP of Symetra’s life division.

“Phil has worked for premier life companies and has earned a stellar reputation with national distributors," Curley says in a statement. "We’re delighted to welcome Phil to Symetra and look forward to his leadership as we grow and diversify our life business.”

Symetra named a new CIO, George McKinnon, earlier this year.
