Esurance Brings App to Android

The auto carrier's policy service app is already available for iOS and Windows Phone 7 devices.

San Francisco-based Esurance has released a version of its Esurance Mobile app for Google's Android operating system.

The app is already available for Apple iOS devices, including the iPhone and iPad; as well as Windows Phone 7.

Customers can use the app to get a quote, access policy documents, make payments, view coverage and claims information, find a repair shop, submit a glass-damage claim and contact a dedicated claims representative and access the Esurance Facebook and Twitter pages. They also can access RepairView, Esurance's online repair monitoring feature.

"Offering an app for Android users enables us to simplify the car insurance process for millions of consumers who use Android devices," Esurance CIO Phil Swift says in a statement. "We want to provide new capabilities and outstanding service for our customers wherever they are, and our easy-to-use app gives consumers more choices in how they interact with their car insurance company."
