Fireman's Exec Joins Trilogy

Rowe joins Trilogy to head financial services industry group.

Former president of the Commercial Insurance Division at Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. Thomas E. Rowe has joined Trilogy (Austin, TX) as general manager of the vendor's Financial Services Industry Group.

Rowe, a 30-year insurance veteran, says he was attracted to the e-business enterprise software provider partly because of Trilogy's strategy, but also because he has seen the value that technology can bring to an insurer. "As a former insurance business executive, I know using the proper technology can provide vast efficiencies and savings," Rowe says.

As a former business executive, Rowe knows how insurance leaders think. "When you grow up in the insurance industry and move to the executive level, you have to learn the strategy, expense management, product development, and technology," he says. "I bring a clear understanding of the voice of the insurance customer, and I'll help Trilogy clearly pursue the insurance sector.

"Over the years I have seen many opportunities for technology to profoundly change the way the insurance business is conducted," Rowe adds. "The business value of these changes is tremendous." Rowe says he was contacted through a recruiter by Trilogy. "Although I have to come up to speed on the business, I immediately bring the language of the customer to Trilogy's table, even though Trilogy is already savvy about the insurance industry." Currently, financial services comprises about 25 percent of Trilogy's business.
