Genworth Partners with Mayo Clinic for Online Health Program

The carrier's goal is to spur better health habits among its long-term care insurance customers.

Richmond, Va.-based Genworth Financial has partnered with the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.) on an online health education program.

Modeled after Genworth’s own employee wellness program, the program — Live+Well — aims to give long-term care insurance policyholders access to information that addresses wellness management after they leave the workforce. It includes Mayo Clinic-penned content on men’s and women’s health, common health concerns of caregivers, tips for healthier lifestyles and more.

“Wellness education is the next frontier in promoting disease-free and disability-free living,” Buck Stinson, president of U.S. insurance products for Genworth Financial, says in a statement. “Baby Boomers entering retirement increasingly seek to learn more about how the actions they take today can influence their future health.”

Genworth also hopes to learn more about morbidity trends associated with an aging population through the program, the company says.
