Maximus Offering Health Insurance Exchange Services
Maximus, a Reston, Va.-based provider of government services, has launched a health insurance exchange compliance offering.
The company’s goal is to help states meet the Department of Health and Human Services readiness deadline of January 1, 2013 and live deadline one year later.
Maximus has released assessment services, which it says will help states analyze their current infrastructure, translate the federal requirements to their unique situations, and develop a best-fit strategy; operations support services, to provide necessary technology and program management support; and quality assurance services, to ensure that the technology and operational components of the Exchange and supporting systems are developed and deployed in an optimal manner and in compliance with federal and state requirements.
“State leaders must make critical decisions regarding how they extend health insurance coverage through an exchange,” Bruce Caswell, president and GM of Maximus Health Services, says in a statement. “Our exchange solutions utilize our extensive government health insurance program experience to apply best practices that address each state’s unique challenges of expanding coverage and meeting the federal requirements.”
Other provisions of the Affordable Care Act are going into effect as the law matures. Last week, HHS launched a insurance comparison site. In addition, coverage of pre-existing conditions and a 10% tax on the use of tanning salons kicked off.
