Pacific Life Promotes 3 IT Execs

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Pacific Life has made three IT-related promotions.

Richard Vrieling has been named senior vice president, Corporate Information Technology. In his new role, he will oversee the IT departments supporting multiple business divisions and subsidiaries of the company. He worked in division-specific IT departments including securities and investment management since joining the company in 1986 before moving to the overarching corporate IT department in 2011.

Steve Bollinger is named vice president, Technology, Retirement Solutions Division. He last was assistant VP of e-commerce for the division, with responsibility for the its Internet, Extranet, and Intranet websites and business applications. Now, his responsibilities include development and quality assurance of all software applications supporting Pacific Life's retail annuity, mutual funds, and institutional product lines.

Finally, Sharon Matthews is made assistant vice president, Application Development, Life Insurance Division. She joined the company last year as a director working on the IT backbone for some new products, including the long-term care product Pacific PremierCare.
