Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City Launches Colibrium Partners’ Underwriting Solution

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City aunches Colibrium Partners’ Tuo underwriting solution; implementation is part of a sales, marketing and underwriting automation strategy.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City announced it has gone live with Colibrium Partners’, LLC (Atlanta), Tuo Underwriting to automate its individual and small group underwriting processes, including real-time approval, paperless processing and integration to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City’s existing infrastructure.

The launch is part of an enterprisewide sales, marketing and underwriting automation strategy that will leverage the Tuo product suite and Microsoft Dynamics business management solutions. Tuo Underwriting will enable Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City to expand and change underwriting methodologies quickly, without costly development efforts, according to the two companies.

“With Tuo Underwriting now deployed, we’re achieving significant efficiencies and are positioned to rapidly extend our capabilities,” said Jeff Berry, VP, Underwriting, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, in a press release.

“Health insurance sales and underwriting are increasingly complex and volatile processes. Tuo provides not only the automation capabilities today, but the flexibility to support changing needs in the future. With market and reform changes you have to be able to respond quickly, Tuo provides this," said Roy Stubbs, Principal, Colibrium Partners, LLC, in a statement. Tuo provides health insurance plans with what Colibrium Partners terms “the best-in-class business-configurable Sales, Rating, Underwriting and Enrollment solution.”
