Scottsdale Insurance Company Licenses Vertafore PolicyIssuance

The Nationwide subsidiary, which deals in excess and surplus and specialty lines, selected the platform for its efficiency, according to a statement.

Scottsdale Insurance Company (Scottsdale, Ariz.), an excess and surplus and specialty lines carrier, will license Vertafore's (Bothell, Wash.) PolicyIssuance product, according to a release.

Scottsdale Insurance, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nationwide, selected PolicyIssuance to give its general agents access to its policy forms library and real-time forms updates. The platform automatically fills data directly from agency management systems to the appropriate and current carrier forms.

Data are extracted from the agency management system, and the software analyzes the data based on an underwriting rules engine, Vertafore claims. Once all the mandatory data is complete, the software automatically selects the required policy forms and pre-fills data into form sets, it adds.

Vertafore was acquired by a private equity firm, TPG Capital, in June.
