Two MassMutual Tech Execs Get Promotions to Senior Vice President

Two MassMutual tech execs promoted to Senior Vice President; Sri Dronamraju, who also services as Chief Information Risk Officer, is named SVP, Enterprise Technology; Scott Palmer is named SVP Retirement Services division, reflecting his contribution to the unit's growth.

Two Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) executives with high-level technology-related responsibilities have been promoted to Senior Vice President, the Springfield, Mass.-based insurance company announced.

Reflecting the importance to MassMutual of information security and strong and comprehensive information risk management capabilities, Sri Dronamraju has been named SVP, Enterprise Technology. Dronamraju, who joined the company in 2008, serves as MassMutual's Chief Information Risk Officer and is responsible for developing and maintaining what the insurer describes as "a multi-faceted approach" for identifying and mitigating information risk. This includes including strong policy, threat detection and deterrence, data loss prevention and employee education. According to the insurer, under Dronamraju's leadership, MassMutual has developed comprehensive information technology policies and a governance framework across the company and its subsidiaries, resulting in the creation of a security and operations center that provides constant, real time, 24x7 global threat monitoring and incident response.

Responsible for managing information technology and systems for the corporate, union, nonprofit and governmental employers' defined benefit, defined contribution and nonqualified deferred compensation plans for MassMutual's Retirement Services division, Scott Palmer has been named SVP, Retirement Services Systems. Palmer, who also joined MassMutual in 2008, has led efforts to enhance and strengthen the division's systems and technology functions during what the company calls "an unprecedented period of growth for the business." Under Palmer's leadership and partnership with others in the Retirement Services division, the company has implemented a number of initiatives designed to meet the current and future needs of MassMutual's plan sponsors and retirement plan participants. These include award-winning participant statements and MassMutual's RetireSmart participant web site, as well as innovative plan sponsor and participant online tools.
