Enhancements To AIR System Streamline Workflow
The latest releases of AIR Worldwide Corp.'s (Boston) CLASIC/2 and CATStation contain two enhancements - AIR ImportExpress and the CEDE database - that allow insurer, reinsurer and broker users to import, analyze and share catastrophe risk management data faster and more easily, the vendor claims.
"Detailed exposure data is typically received in a variety of formats," which are difficult for systems to digest, according to Uday Virkund, AIR Worldwide's SVP.
The vendor describes AIR Import-Express as a utility that facilitates the quick import of exposure data, in its original format, into CLASIC/2 and CATStation via an intuitive graphical user interface. Once data has been imported, AIR ImportExpress allows users to save an import template for automatic conversion of future imports.
CEDE (Catastrophe Exposure Data Exchange) further streamlines the catastrophe modeling process by facilitating the sharing of detailed exposure data among insurers, reinsurers and brokers during the reinsurance placement process, AIR Worldwide asserts. CEDE reduces time spent by reinsurers importing and geocoding data for detailed catastrophe analysis and avoids potential errors in data translation.
