Missouri Employers Mutual Uses Thunderhead NOW for Policy and Billing Communications

The workers' comp carrier expects the solution to enable it to accelerate time to market by empowering business users to manage the templates and rules in its customer communications.

Missouri Employers Mutual (MEM), a Columbia, Mo.-based workers' compensation carrier recognized by Celent as "Model Insurer of the Year," has selected the Thunderhead NOW platform for policy and billing communications. The carrier expects the solution to enable it to accelerate time to market by empowering business users to manage the templates and rules in its customer communications.

MEM chose Thunderhead NOW because of the product's XML-based design and open standards-based architecture, as well as the solution's proven integration with the carrier's Guidewire (San Mateo, Calif.) solutions, according to the Thunderhead news release. The carrier was also attracted to the Thunderhead platform's user-friendly design and focus on business user control, according to the Thunderhead source.

"We needed a document-creation tool to integrate with our policy and billing systems," comments Cassandra McGinnis, director of application development and support, MEM. "We chose Thunderhead because of its open standards-based architecture, scalability and potential to give more control of document changes to the business. We believe these features will improve MEM's flexibility and speed-to-market " all of which will benefit our agents and policyholders."

Thunderhead NOW allows non-technical authors and approvers across the organization to quickly make changes to content and business rules without involving the IT department, streamlining the customer communications process and increasing operational efficiencies, owing to the solution's easy-to-use interface, the Thunderhead source asserts. The solution will also enable MEM to provide even better service, giving the company the opportunity to deliver new levels of personalization and relevance to each piece of correspondence delivered, the vendor claims.
