Harleysville has confirmed the resignation of Akhil Tripathi and reports that it has named Steve Byrne acting chief technology officer and John Griggs acting CIO. Both officers have been with Harleysville since 2006 and have, respectively, over 15 and over 20 years of experience in insurance and financial services.
"We are confident that the strong leadership team and foundation we have in place will enable us to continue our important IT initiatives," says Randy Buckwalter, corporate communications director, Harleysville.
Byrne is currently vice president of agency and field automation technology. Griggs is vice president of insurance management systems, in which role he has led the initiative to replace the company's commercial and personal lines policy administration systems.
Harleysville says it will provide more information on its IT leadership during the P&C carrier's second quarter earnings conference call on Aug. 9.
