Skandia Life Assurance Holdings (Southampton, U.K.) has awarded a multi-year contract to SOLCORP to implement the vendor's ProductXpress product development platform, as part of an overall systems architecture transformation program.

CANAL TAPS GUIDEWIRE

Canal Insurance (Greenville, S.C.) has selected Guidewire (San Mateo, Calif.) ClaimCenter as its new enterprise claims system to provide more powerful tools to claims personnel and further enhance service to policyholders and claimants.

QBE PICKS FORMSPLUS

QBE the Americas, a division of QBE Insurance Group (Sydney), has licensed QualCorp's (Valencia, Calif.) FormsPlus Enterprise solution, which it will use in conjunction with the ISO (Jersey City, N.J.) AscendantOne rating solution to issue various lines of commercial insurance.

OLD SURETY/USS

Old Surety Life Insurance Co. (Oklahoma City) has chosen United Systems and Software, Inc. (Lake Mary, Fla.), to provide individual life and health administration and document imaging software and services.

TUFTS LICENSES DXCG

Tufts Health Plan (Waltham, Mass.) has signed a multi-year contract to license Boston-based DxCG's Risk-Smart Web-based suite of predictive modeling tools to improve the financial forecasting of its healthcare operations.

IBM OUTSOURCING

Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM has signed outsourcing agreements with Zurich Financial Services (Zurich, Switzerland) and ING U.S. Financial Services (Atlanta). Zurich has signed an agreement with IBM to consolidate and manage its workplace operations across five European countries, the U.S. and Canada. ING U.S. signed a $600 million, seven-year contract for IBM to deliver its IT infrastructure services.

GREAT AMERICAN E-CERTS

The Great American Insurance Group (Cincinnati) licensed Oceanwide's (Montreal) Genoa Cargo insurance management platform to handle processing and issuance of electronic insurance certificates, allowing clients to track premiums and generate insurance certificates through a standard Web browser.

JHI SELECTS CATEX

London-based Jansen and Hastings Intermediaries Ltd. has agreed to license a CATEX (Princeton, N.J.) developed Web-based insurance transaction system as its core operating platform.

BCBST TAPS VIPS

Chattanooga-based Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee has implemented ViPS MCSource care management decision support system, an enterprise solution to aid business operations, strategic planning and improvement of patient care.
