IASA News Briefs: News from the IASA 2006 Educational Conference & Business Show in Boston.

FCCI SELECTS GUIDEWIRE CLAIMCENTER

FCCI Insurance Group (FCCI; Sarasota, Fla.), provider of comprehensive property and casualty insurance for the commercial business owner, and Guidewire Software (San Mateo, Calif.) announced at the IASA Conference that FCCI has selected Guidewire ClaimCenter as its new all-in-one claims system for all lines of business. FCCI was searching for a single claims system to consolidate and efficiently handle all of its claims processing. Guidewire ClaimCenter was selected to support the end-to-end claims handling process. FCCI's lines of business include: commercial auto, crime, farm owners, general liability, inland marine, property, umbrella and workers' compensation. ClaimCenter will be integrated with FCCI's policy systems, ImageRight document management system, ISO ClaimSearch, medical bill review systems, downstream statistical reporting and general ledger applications.

DECISION RESEARCH RELEASES INTEGRATED SOLUTION

Decision Research Corp. (DRC, Honolulu) announced the launch of its DecisionMaker Rating Enterprise Edition, which the vendor describes as a complete solution for automated rate program rollouts and analysis. The Enterprise Edition integrates the features of DecisionMaker Rating, DecisionMaker Analyzer and DecisionMaker Assistant. By combining DRC's set of technologies into a single offering, carriers are provided a complete enterprise-capable rating system. Enterprise Edition leverages Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 reporting and analytical services to view and drill into the rating composition.

PMIC SELECTS FJA-US'S PRODUCT MACHINE

To enhance product development, this May Physicians Mutual Insurance Company (PMIC; Omaha, Neb.; $2 billion) selected FJA-US's (New York) Product Machine. FJA-US's Product Machine defines and models all insurance products and customizes the products to distribution channels, implements underwriting rules, sets pricing parameters and executes performance testing, according to the vendor. PMIC plans to use the product to minimize inaccuracies and overhead with ongoing maintenance.

INDUSTRIAL ALLIANCE CHOOSES WHITEHILL

Vancouver-based Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services ($28.5 billion in assets) has chosen Whitehill Technologies (Moncton, NB, Canada,) to improve communications to produce semi-annual customer statements and internal reports for Web presentment and printing. Industrial Alliance's clients receive separate statements for each policy or fund in their portfolio and these statements are stored in different legacy systems. With Whitehill's software Industrial Alliance will extract the data from these legacy systems, consolidate it, and merge the separate statements into a single package.

STRONGWOOD CHOOSES FISERV

Monterey, Calif.-based P&C carrier Strongwood Insurance Holding Corp. has selected Fiserv, Inc.'s integrated financial and reinsurance systems to support the insurer's projected growth. Strongwood will transition all of its companies onto what Fiserv describes as a flexible and scalable solution to support consolidated reporting and financial analysis, as well as to streamline regulatory reporting. The carrier will use the vendor's Freedom Reinsurance System (FRS) to fully automate its reinsurance accounting and administration. FRS will allow Strongwood to structure, add and modify reinsurance programs, analyze their performance and help maximize loss recoverables and cash flow, according to Fiserv.

INFOGIX ENHANCES CONTROLSINSIGHT

Infogix has enhanced the compliance features of its ControlsInsight product, which provides a real-time, "dashboard" view of the vendor's automated information controls. The enhancement will help business professionals, IT professionals and auditors view real-time status and results of information controls, create personalized views based on their roles and responsibilities, identify and document trends by quickly reviewing validated information from a variety of information controls, and deploy and maintain an enterprise solution for viewing control deployments, status and results information, according to the Vendor.
