StoneRiver's New P&C Core Processing System Addresses Need for Easier Business Process Automation and Integration

StoneRiver's new P&C Core Processing System, StoneRiver Stream, addresses Need for easier business process automation and integration.

Oakland, Calif.-based StoneRiver has launched what it describes as "the next generation" of its property and casualty (P&C) core processing systems. The integrated solution, called StoneRiver Stream, has components that enable carriers to be leaner, faster and smarter, according to the vendor.

StoneRiver Stream components can also be used individually, the company says. StoneRiver Stream suite components generally available in the first half of the year include Customer Stream, Distribution Stream, and Billing Stream-Direct. All are built on the company's advanced services-oriented Insurance Integration Platform (IIP). The platform is designed to open up new business, operational and technical opportunities for carriers by providing easier business process automation, integration, and a rich user interface framework. The platform allows Stream products to scale for business expansion so carriers can remain lean.

"Stream handles multiple corporations and companies for all lines of business. The emphasis is on speed with straight-through processing, Web quote and submission, built-in work management, and more," said Rodney Griffin, SVP of product management at StoneRiver - Insurance Solutions, in a press release. "Business intelligence, predictive analytics and a rules engine all help carriers become smarter in the way they operate."

Stream is built on a model-driven service-oriented architecture that embeds a full enterprise service bus in the system. According to StoneRiver - Insurance Solutions President Gary Sherne, "The new offerings will continue to emphasize configuration tools and business rules, while introducing true plug-and-play services for the first time in P&C administration solutions."
