Pyxis Announces iPhone Support

Pyxis Mobile, a Waltham, Mass.-based provider of wireless applications to insurers and other financial services firms, has announced that its Application Studio solution has been extended to support the Apple iPhone, according to a press release.

Application Studio users can now configure a single mobile application that runs natively on iPhone, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphones, Pyxis says. The solution allows Pyxis clients to deliver applications that leverage those devices' cameras, built-in GPS capabilities and other inherent features. With the addition of the iPhone to its roster of supported devices, Pyxis Mobile's packaged and custom-configured applications now run on 88% of smartphones sold in North America in 2009, the company says.
