Pyxis Releases New Version of Mobile App Platform
Waltham, Mass.-based Pyxis Mobile has launched a new version of its mobile application platform that will give insurers the ability to configure one mobile application to run on three platforms-- Waterloo, Ontario-based Research In Motion's (RIM) operating system for the BlackBerry, Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform and Pyxis Mobile's own Desktop Edition which, according to a Pyxis Mobile source, allows users to see the same workflow and configuration that they see on their mobile application, via a browser.
Additional enhancements in the latest release, version 6.2, include support for multiple languages and optimization for the BlackBerry Storm device, as well as improved search functionality, real-time transaction confirmation, geostamping, scripting and real-time dynamic choice lists.
"Version 6.2 allows our customers to run mobile applications on multiple platforms, deploy globally utilizing localized languages and conduct more business in real-time," Pyxis Mobile president and CTO Todd Christy said in a press release.
