Blue Shield of California Extends Contract with MedeAnalytics

Blue Shield of California (BSC, San Francisco) has extended its agreement for MedeAnalytics (Emeryville, Calif.) Claims Transparency solution, which powers BSC's successful Partnership in Operational Excellence and Transparency (POET) program, which has resulted in a significant decrease in the number of claims denials and appeals.according to a MedeAnalytics press release. BSC has partnered with nearly 100 California hospitals to improve claims performance metrics, streamline business processes and accelerate revenue cycles, according to MedeAnalytics.

"The claims process is notoriously plagued by inefficient and often manual systems to process claims data, much of which resides in different silos," comments Juan Davila, senior vice president, network management, BSC." MedeAnalytics' Claims Transparency solution provides a Web-based analytic portal to consolidate and view claims performance data, providing unprecedented visibility for both BSC and participating hospitals. This sharing of data has built trust, improving our relationships with providers." Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
