Erie Insurance Licenses CSC's Agency Link

Erie Insurance (Erie, Pa.) has licensed CSC's Agency Link as front end for the carrier's CSC Series II P&C policy administration system. A vendor statement characterizes Agency Link as enabling quicker response times and better service when handling complex customer service inquiries, as well as new business and policy management transactions, in real time via the Web.

Erie has been taking advantage of Series II product enhancements, including straight through processing, XML adapters and 24/7 availability, according to CSC. By choosing a strategy to leverage its current systems, Erie is able to improve the pace of the business benefits resulting from these enhancements, while avoiding the expense of a full system replacement, the vendor asserts.

"We chose to enhance our long-standing CSC software to preserve our IT investments while driving down cost of operations, accelerating product development cycles and improving service to our agents and customers," comments Eric Miller, senior VP, IT, Erie Insurance. "By utilizing this low-risk approach, we're able to select and implement the functionality when we need it, while leveraging our current, proven assets."

CSC emphasizes that Agency Link can be used with any policy administration solution, describing the product as self-service software that helps to more effectively sell and service P&C insurance policies.
