IBC APPOINTMENT

Independence Blue Cross (IBC, Philadelphia) has promoted Neil T. Canavan to director of operations services. He had been manager of claims in government operations.

COLONIAL PRESIDENT

UnumProvident Corporation (Chatanooga, Tenn.) has named Randall C. Horn president and CEO of its wholly owned subsidiary, Colonial Life & Accident Ins. Co. (Columbia, S.C.). Horn was EVP for Mutual of Omaha's (Omaha, Neb.) individual financial services division.

AIGT EXEC

AIG Technologies Inc. (AIGT, Livingston, N.J.) has appointed Gerald Grossman to VP, processing services. Prior to joining AIGT, Grossman headed technology consulting firm Management Group International, LLC, which he founded in 1996.

ATLANTA LIFE PRES

Atlanta Life Financial Group (Atlanta) has appointed Ronald D. Brown as CEO and president. Brown had served on the company's board of directors and previously served as CEO at The Variant Group, SYNAVANT and IMS Health Strategic Technologies.

ZNA APPOINTMENT

Christopher A. Taylor has been named president of Zurich North America's (Schaumburg, Ill.) Financial Enterprises profit center. Taylor was previously SVP for Zurich's Financial Enterprises Target Markets group, where he was responsible for sales, distribution and business development.
