Harleysville Tech Appointments

Harleysville Insurance (Harleysville, Pa.) has made several technology leadership appointments to support efforts to enhance ease of doing business. William F. Page was named VP of operations and services. He will oversee Harleysville's customer service unit as well as its commercial lines processing centers in Harleysville and Worcester, Mass. Stephen J. Byrne was named assistant vice president and chief architect, responsible for the design and implementation of packaged information systems and the integration of software architectures that support core business functions. And John Philip was named assistant vice president of agency and field automation. He will oversee all automation initiatives that support the company's agents and field organization.

Shallow Joins PFG

The Principal Financial Group appointed Kurt Shallow VP of independent distribution. Previously VP of MGA relationships for Lincoln Financial Distributors, Shallow will be responsible for leading wholesale distribution for The Principal's life insurance business.

Hanover Hires VP

The Hanover Insurance Group (Worcester, Mass.) hired David H. Bradford as regional VP for sales and distribution for the Southeast region. Bradford most recently was branch manager of The Hartford's (Hartford) Houston field office.
