Employment Outlook Continues to Improve for Insurance Technology Sector

Hiring in the insurance technology sector is showing signs of life, and compensation for insurance IT staff is trending upward. But pay for IT managers is sliding.


The insurance technology segment was a reasonably bright spot in a still-anemic U.S. jobs picture, according to the 2012 InformationWeek U.S. IT Salary Survey. That’s not altogether surprising given steady (though modest) increases in insurance IT budgets and an array of initiatives across the industry focused on core systems modernization, analytics and big data proficiency, and next-generation multi-channel (including mobile) distribution.
