Narragansett Bay Launches New Homeowner Web Site, Agent Portal

The enhancements fall within the company's APEX project, an agent-focused series of technical initiatives to be completed in 2001 that will allow the company to fulfill new customer needs and provide what the carrier describes as outstanding service to its policies with advanced straight-through processing to its independent agents.

The Narragansett Bay Insurance Co. (Pawtucket, R.I.) has launched an enhanced version of its Web site and a new agent portal. The site was designed to help homeowners prevent losses from occurring in their homes.

"In addition to detailing Narragansett Bay's custom options, deductibles, discounts, and rapid claims service, our Web site highlights the company's unique ShelterPride program," comments Mike Anselmo, CIO. "This valued added service provides an in-home appraisal with every new policy, providing a comprehensive review of a home's exposure and offering our recommendations for avoiding losses and receiving all available credits. Our Web site also provides a history of the company, offers consumers the ability to find agents in their community, report claims, and pay premiums on-line."

Working with its independent agent council, Narragansett Bay has also developed a new agency portal that services as the home base for its proprietary underwriting and quoting systems, according to Anselmo. The enhancements fall within the company's APEX project, an agent-focused series of technical initiatives to be completed in 2010 that will allow the company to fulfill new customer needs and provide what the carrier describes as outstanding service to its policies with advanced straight-through processing to its independent agents.
