The Hartford to Participate In ProspX Online Search and Sales Collaboration Platform

The Web-based platform will give participating commercial insurance agents and brokers real-time access to information about The Hartford's expertise, the types of risks it insures and key contacts.

The Hartford will participate in the ProspX (Austin, Texas) online search and sales collaboration, according to a ProspX news release. The Web-based platform will give participating commercial insurance agents and brokers real-time access to information about The Hartford's expertise, the types of risks it insures and key contacts, making it easier to collaborate on new and renewal business opportunities, the ProspX statement claims.

"Given the complexity of commercial insurance, knowing who to call is critical," comments Gary Thompson, executive vice president of The Hartford's Middle Market and Specialty Commercial businesses. "By enabling agents and brokers to access relevant information and connect with the appropriate contacts at The Hartford early in the sales cycle, we're able to focus our attention on developing tailored solutions for a specific client or business opportunity."

With ProspX, agents and brokers can access the information they need regarding carrier products and services, and carriers can communicate more effectively about their expertise and the types of risks they insure, the vendor asserts. Using keyword searches, brokers can find, connect to, and collaborate with targeted underwriters who best match their new or renewal business opportunities, according to ProspX. Data, conversations and shared content is tagged and indexed in a virtual sales library for future reference. "Two of the biggest challenges commercial insurers face are the difficulty of arming agents and brokers with key interests and differentiators early in the sales process, and the inability to easily track and learn from wins and losses in order to improve hit ratios and strengthen broker, agency, and client relationships," says Todd Young , president and CEO of ProspX.
