Change in Responsibilities?

I joined Great American Insurance Co. as its SVP and CIO in January of this year. Joining a new organization, learning and adapting to its organizational culture, setting up the new technology strategy, organizing the staff into a functional and business-oriented setup, making the right vendor decisions, executing the strategy, ensuring that we continue our alignment with business expectations, and having the opportunity to work with a wonderful group of people at GAIC has been the focus of my work for the last eight months.

Future Areas of Focus?

The coming year promises to be exciting as we will see the results of all of the work done by the staff. While several front-end implementations will go live in the early part of next year, the foundation for significant transformations at the back end as well as to the core infrastructure also will be established. To be able to achieve all this in a large organization in this kind of time frame is a true testament to the quality of the people I get to work with every day.
