ACORD LOMA INSURANCE SYSTEMS FORUM BRIEFS

ACORD presented insurance industry carriers, vendors and individuals with awards recognizing leadership and achievement at the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum in Las Vegas this week.

ADOBE DELIVERS INTELLIGENT ACORD FORMS Adobe Systems and ACORD announced the delivery of more than 150 ACORD insurance forms in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Through new ACORD Fillable Forms in PDF, insurance companies, agencies and vendors can automate and simplify customer communication, capture data more accurately and securely, and reduce re-keying costs and errors associated with manual data entry. Delivery of additional ACORD Fillable Forms in PDF will be provided on a phased approach between May and September 2006.

EXSTREAM AND GUIDEWIRE JOIN TO DELIVER DOCUMENT AND POLICY ADMINISTRATION SOLUTION Exstream Software, provider of Dialogue software for enterprise personalization, and Guidewire Software, a provider of modern technology solutions for property and casualty and workers' compensation insurers, announced a co-marketing partnership that teams the companies to deliver a Web-based policy administration system to streamline insurers' document creation needs. Customers of Guidewire PolicyCenter, a Web-based policy administration system, can leverage Dialogue for policy issuance, forms management, and other complex document creation needs.

CAMILION LAUNCHES THE ONLINE SALES SOLUTION FOR P&C Camilion Solutions announced AuthorityOnline, an online solution for P&C carriers looking to take their commercial and specialty lines business online, or for a way to rationalize their online systems into a single, Web-based platform from which brokers can write business, get quotes and bind policies in minutes. Powered by Camilion's product management solution ProductAuthority, AuthorityOnline allows carriers to bring products to market online, grow revenue and improve broker satisfaction, without having to replace core policy administration systems, according to the vendor. AuthorityOnline offers an architecture that is fully agnostic -- allowing carriers to deploy a common platform for all their online products, regardless of the underlying administration and back office systems supporting them.

ADMINSERVER VIRTUAL ADDRESSES LEGACY TRANSFORMATION AdminServer announced the introduction of itsVirtual Back Office (VBO), a suite of solution components linked by a centralized and common rules engine. The VBO suite components available are: AdminServer Policy Administration System - full policy administration for life, annuities, reinsurance and health; UVServer - unit value management and fund accounting; IllustrationServer - point of sale illustrations; NewBusinessServer - new business and underwriting; and CommissionServer - license and appointment and commissions.

GLOBAL IQX ENABLES SECURE DATA IMPORT/EXPORT A new solution from Global IQX, a specialist in component-based sales and service solutions for group benefits carriers, will enable insurance carriers handling large amounts of data to import and export it securely. IQX Secure is one of the components of IQX Platform enabling the processing and management of: large and sensitive data compression/decompression and/or encryption/decryption allowing the exchange of data through the network with high performance and stability; large and sensitive data compression/decompression and/or encryption/decryption allowing the exchange of data among Web server(s), business application server(s) and database server(s); and account information including user passwords.

ORACLE INTEGRATES ORACLE'S SIEBEL INSURANCE AND ORACLE CONTENT SERVICES Oracle announced the integration of Oracle Content Services with its Siebel Insurance applications, enabling insurance companies to streamline core insurance processes, such as policy issuance and claims management, as well as improve customer service. The integration of Oracle Content Services with Siebel Insurance applications delivers an automated content management solution that enables insurers to effectively manage diverse forms of content to help improve employee productivity, enhance the customer experience and streamline regulatory compliance. With this integration, users can seamlessly access Oracle Content Services directly from Siebel Insurance.

PORTELLUS DEBUTS AGENT PORTAL AND DECISION MANAGEMENT SOLUTION Portellus announced the introduction of its Agent Portal and Decision Management solution for the insurance industry. The Web portal helps agents to by providing CRM, policy management and decision management tools at the point-of-sale. Together, the functionality enables agents to better service customers, increase closing ratios and reduce policy fall-out, according to the vendor. Portellus' Agent Portal extends various decisioning functionality to the Web using its Enterprise Rules Management (ERM) system, which house carriers' unique business rules and underwriting guidelines. The site also delivers event triggers on up-sell and cross-sell opportunities and allows agents to manage renewals, policy changes, billing, claims reporting and more. Driving the intelligence behind the solution is Portellus' ERM system, which comprises a rules engine, rules repository and user interface that empowers carriers with the ability to centrally manage and strictly govern its unique policies, process and rules across the enterprise.
