Aflac Group Insurance Gets New COO

Aflac Group Insurance has named Daniel Lebish EVP and COO, a newly created position that was announced when the company reorganized in May.

Lebish last was an EVP at Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, where he was responsible for building Highmark's new provider organization and related integrated delivery system. At Aflac, he will oversee the day-to-day operating activities, performance goals and strategic initiatives of Aflac Group Insurance.

Lebish is based in Columbia, S.C. and reports to Kenneth Janke, president of Aflac U.S.

"I believe [Lebish's] extensive experience with both the group insurance market and insurance broker distribution, combined with his strong leadership skills, will complement and strengthen the Aflac Group organization," Janke says in a statement.

Former American Safety CIO Julia Davis joined Aflac as CIO last month.
