Allstate Adds $300 Million to CAT Loss Estimate, Other Insurers Report Losses
Allstate (Northbrook, Ill.) announced it lost $300 million on catastrophes in June, bringing its total losses for the second quarter of 2011 to $2.3 billion.
In addition, the following carriers announced their total CAT loss estimates for the time period:
- State Auto (Columbus, Ohio): $155 million to $165 million
- Allied World (Zug, Switzerland): $65 million to $75 million
- Platinum Underwriters (Hamilton, Bermuda): $74.8 million
