American Safety Insurance Taps Duck Creek Rating Solution
American Safety Insurance Holdings (ASI, Bermuda) has selected Duck Creek (Bolivar, Mo.) Rating in an effort to modernize its IT infrastructure by adding a unified and underwriting and rating platform that supports greater speed-to-market and distributor access, according to a vendor statement.
ASI's use of the Duck Creek platform will enable the carrier to maintain focus on underwriting discipline while streamlining processes to improve operational efficiency, according to the Duck Creek source. The solution allows for more granular risk segmentation and greater pricing precision, which will enable ASI to extend its product portfolio, the vendor claims. The implementation will begin in the carrier's environmental liability line and then be extended to all existing lines, the source says.
"After an extensive selection process, Duck Creek was selected because it was the quickest and easiest way to update rates and factors," says Julia Davis, CIO, ASI. "One of our main objectives was to make sure that we had a solution that would give us the most flexibility and the least amount of customization to get operational, but with the option for future configuration."
