Amica Mutual Moves to Cloud for HR Systems
Reflecting the insurance trend toward adopting cloud software first in non-core systems, Amica Mutual Insurance Co. has selected Ultimate Software's UltiPro as its human resources platform.
Features of the cloud-delivered product include salary planning and budgeting tools for HR managers, digitally giving informational access to new employees, an automatic process to recruit, several payrolls options, and a database for all employees to remain connected.
"The upgrades we experienced with the ERP [enterprise resource planning] we previously used always have been lengthy, staff-intensive process for us, and we did most, if not all, of the work using out internal resources," says HRIS director at Amica, Richard Bouthillette. "We almost never could take advantage of new functionality because all of our time was spent just making sure that the upgraded software was working properly.

Greg Swick, chief sales officer at Ultimate Software adds "Ultimate's cloud technology allows us to deliver enhancements to our customers much more rapidly than through traditional, on-premise HCM systems and makes it easier for customers to take advantage of innovations in HCM technology."
Amica employs about 3,200 people in 40 offices.
