Anthem Offers E-Tutorials to Members
Woodland Hills, Calif.-based health carrier Anthem Blue Cross has launched e-tutorials to teach its members about their plans and the company's website.
"Making it easier for members to navigate the health care system is a top priority for Anthem," Pam Kehaly, president of Anthem Blue Cross, says in a statement. "The first step is providing members with simplified tools to better explain how their benefits work."
The Basics of Health Insurance tutorial teaches why regular checkups and tests are important and how they're covered, what common insurance terms mean, why to use in-network doctors, how claims are approved and paid and how to understand Explanation of Benefits forms.
The Web Overview tutorial shows how to register on anthem.com, find a doctor or hospital, take a health assessment, personalize a health record, work with a personal health coach, view videos of common surgeries and find discounts
"Customers have told us that they want more from their health Web site," Kehaly adds. "Anthem Blue Cross is committed to meeting their expectations by redefining how they interact with us online as part of our overall effort to improve service, quality and help improve their health."
