Are You Ready for a Rebound?
At the same time that insurers continue to focus on getting their operational houses in order-restricting IT spending, looking for payback and focusing on only the most strategic initiatives-new concepts such as real-time or on-demand computing are offering the promise of providing a unique competitive advantage. Analysis geared toward separating the hype from the reality, as well as finding the right balance in terms of project management and metrics of success, will be on the agenda at Insurance & Technology's Fifth Annual Executive Summit 2003, "Maximizing Growth, Minimizing Risk," taking place November 9-12, at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ.
Other topics include taking intelligent advantage of the opportunities created by crisis, and analysis of future opportunities for growth in the insurance industry. Additionally, the program includes Special Interest Roundtables (Tuesday, Nov. 11) focused on the following topics: Web Services Best Practices; Small Company Challenges & Opportunities; Where Do We Stand on Standards; BPO-Is Now the Time; Smart Approaches to Business Intelligence; and 21st Century Distribution Strategies.
Also on Nov. 11, the closing session at the Summit will be a panel discussion on "Secrets of Success (and Survival)" featuring several current and past Elite 8 Award honorees. And, a highlight of the event will be the Elite 8 Awards Dinner on Monday, Nov. 10, which will recognize the eight insurance technology executives profiled in Insurance & Technology's annual special issue.
