ATLANTIC MUTUAL PICKS INSBRIDGE FOR PERSONAL LINES RATING

In a deal that is intended to improve Atlantic Mutual Companies' personal lines rating engine business-user experience, the carrier has awarded a contract to InsBridge for use of its RateManager Suite and Rate Loading Services.

In a deal that is intended to improve Atlantic Mutual Companies' (New York) personal lines rating engine business-user experience, the carrier has awarded a contract to InsBridge (Plano, TX) for use of its RateManager Suite and Rate Loading Services. Atlantic Mutual will be moving all of its personal lines products to the InsBridge platform. The implementation's completion is slated for the second quarter of 2003.

According to Tom Win, applications manager, personal division, Atlantic Mutual, the carrier's existing personal lines rating engine "was not really useable on the business side at all." Additionally, "it was very difficult to work with from a testing and support standpoint," adds Win.

After reviewing products from a number of vendors, Atlantic Mutual selected InsBridge because the functionality of the RateManager Suite best matched what the carrier was aiming to do. Atlantic Mutual's requirements included scalability from an enterprise standpoint and improved testing and support capabilities.

The RateManager Suite, says Win, "gives Atlantic Mutual the ability to enhance our testing and support capabilities, as well as allow business users to input rules and algorithms, instead of having a programming function do that." Because programming requirements will be reduced through the use of RateManager, Atlantic expects to realize savings in terms of staff resources. Additionally, the carrier anticipates faster production problem-solving, greater ease of rating update implementation, and enhanced testing capability returns on its investment.
