Aviva NA Names Chief Risk Officer
Chicago-based Aviva North America, a life and annuities carrier that is a division of Aviva plc, has named Saskia Goedhart chief risk officer.
Goedhart comes from Munich Re Life North America (Princeton, N.J.), where she held the same title. At Aviva, she will oversee a transformation in the company's risk management plan.
“Saskia fills a crucial role at Aviva in our ongoing efforts to drive a risk-aware culture throughout North America,” Aviva North America CEO Richard Hoskins says in a statement. “With her globally diverse background in capital management, enterprise risk management and actuarial financial analysis, she will be instrumental in guiding Aviva during a critical time in our business.”
Reporting directly to Hoskins, Goedhart will oversee the risk management teams of both Aviva USA and Aviva Canada and serve as a member of Aviva North America’s executive committee.
Aviva North America named Dan Guilbert chief risk officer last May, I&T reported. However, he left the company in November to take a position at Symetra. An Aviva North America spokesman said there had been an interim chief risk officer between Guilbert's departure and Goedhart's arrival.
