BCBSA Awards AT&T Multimillion Dollar Contracts
The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA, Chicago) has awarded AT&T Business Solutions two multimillion dollar national contracts, reaffirming the vendor's long-standing role as the Association's primary networking services provider. The contracts, one covering mobility and the other covering networking services, provide for what the vendor describes as a complete portfolio of mobility, data, voice, hosting, Internet protocol, consulting and managed services. In 2004 the parties signed a three-year, $3.6 million contract. The duration and value of the current contracts were not disclosed.
AT&T Business Solutions provides BCBSA with advanced network services that provide real-time access to customer and provider information for call center representatives, according to the vendor. The technology supports BCBSA's 39 member companies by helping them expand capabilities, improve service and control costs, as they increasingly rely on the Internet and private networks to exchange critical information among providers and customers, according to AT&T Business Solutions.
