BCBSAZ Names Marcus Montoya VP, Network Management
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ, Phoenix) has named Marcus Montoya vice president, network management, responsible for maintaining service standards, negotiating agreements with physicians and hospitals, and establishing a partnership relationship with the provider community. Montoya will also be responsible for developing network management strategies.
Montoya has over two decades of experience in provider relations, according to a BCBSAZ statement. He most recently worked as vice president, government programs, for UnitedHealthcare, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, where he was responsible for strategic aspects of Medicaid network development and contracting for the western region. Montoya earned an MBA from Stanford University, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from New Mexico State University.
“We’re thrilled that Marcus will be able to join us,” comments Dick Hannon, senior VP, BCBSAZ. “His experience and knowledge will be instrumental as BCBSAZ navigates the changes coming to the health care industry.”
