Capario Updates Portal, its Revenue Cycle Management Application

The new version helps streamline pass-through rates and speed up the revenue cycle, the company says.

Santa Ana, Calif.-based Capario has launched Portal 3.6, the next version of its revenue cycle management application.

Significant updates include Correct Coding Initiative and Medical Necessity edits, including national coverage determinations and local coverage determinations; auto-generation of secondary claims; enhanced denial management reporting; direct data entry of claims; online correction of both clearinghouse and payer rejections; and advanced search options.

“The EDI department at MacPractice is looking forward to the enhancements and new features included in version 3.6 of the Capario Portal,” Amanda Knott, EDI team lead for MacPractice, a beta tester of the new portal. “We are especially excited about the implementation of [Correct Coding Initiative and Medical Necessity] edits.”

The update also features a new “My Task” inbox, which allows users to define and create personal task lists and save frequent searches. "The new My Tasks function saves a great deal of time with repetitive tasks and reports," Phil Kilcoin, COO for BMS Reimbursement, says in a statement. "The new claim entry screen provides a simple and fast way to enter claim data from scratch or as a copy from previous claims."

Capario has made recent updates to its infrastructure, including a database upgrade to Oracle 11g Release 2, an upgrade to Symantec Storage Foundation v5.0 software and the purchase of two new Sun M3000 servers, the company says.
