Capital Awards TriZetto Contract

The TriZetto Group, a provider of healthcare information technology products and ASP services, will host and manage its proprietary Facets managed care administrative software and provide provider-credentialing services for Capital Blue Cross.

Capital Blue Cross (Harrisburg, PA) has awarded a five-year, $14 million contract to The TriZetto Group (Newport Beach, CA), a provider of healthcare information technology products and services. TriZetto, which is also an ASP, will host and manage its proprietary Facets managed care administrative software for Capital and provide provider-credentialing services.

After going through an extensive RFP process, TriZetto was chosen based on a number of differentiators, according to Anita Smith, executive vice president, Capital Blue Cross. One factor was that TriZetto's research and development arm "was keeping current," with new technology developments, explains Smith. "TriZetto was also customer-focused, it understood how to best serve us." Capital was impressed with TriZetto's technical talent and its ability to meet Capital's timelines.

The Facets technology, according to Smith, will enable Capital to provide improved efficiencies to further its service capabilities to its customers.
