CCC Part of Chicago Tech Initiative To Support Victims of Sept. 11 Attacks

CCC Information Services Inc., a provider of technology to the auto claims and collision repair industries, is among the firms that have launched Chicago Technology Cares, a charitable initiative that is raising funds to support victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

CCC Information Services Inc., the Chicago-based provider of technology to the auto claims and collision repair industries, is among the firms that have launched Chicago Technology Cares, a charitable initiative that is raising funds to support victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Besides CCC, which has contributed $50,000, other organizations participating in Chicago Technology Cares are The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, The Illinois Coalition, The Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, Ketchum/Corporate Technology Communications, Lante Corp., and First Tuesday. The group will accept donations from organizations and individuals with all proceeds going to the Chicago Remembers Fund, established by Mayor Richard M. Daley, Bank One and the City of Chicago to provide disaster relief after the attacks.

Seeking a way CCC could help victims by donating money, PR manager Susan Jablonski contacted officials with Ketchum/Corporate Technology Communications, the company's advertising agency. Her timing was perfect, she reports, because the agency was in the process of organizing Chicago-area technology groups, "getting civic and technology leaders together to represent how we care about what's happened, and express our patriotism and support for the people in New York and Washington, DC."

CCC's executive management group, led by chairman/CEO Githesh Ramamurthy, wanted to make sure donations would go directly to victims, "and we felt this was the best way to do so-align ourselves with the Chamber of Commerce and others," Jablonski says. Besides financial support, CCC employees also have initiated blood drives.

"We are happy to lend our support to Chicago Technology Cares and encourage other companies to do likewise," says Ramamurthy. "On behalf of all of us at CCC, we believe this initative provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the heartfelt care and concern from Chicago's technology community."

Adds Jablonski, "In a time like this, it's great to see all the generosity, not just in our industry, but throughout the country. CCC is proud to be part of this as we begin the healing process."

Individuals and companies interested in making contributions can send checks, payable to: Chicago Remembers Fund, c/o First Tuesday, 8000 Sears Tower, Chicago, IL 60606, or visit www.chicagotechnologycares.com.
