Celina Insurance is Launch Client for IBM 'Social E-mail'
Celina, Ohio-based mutual P&C insurer Celina Insurance Group is among the launch clients for new social e-mail software from Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM.
The IBM Notes and Domino Social Edition 9 platform announced today allows employees to "check e-mail as well as activity streams containing the latest work from each team member, share files with colleagues, view new blogs on topics relevant to the subject and more," according to an IBM statement.
IBM also provides a new social connector for Outlook and integration with Microsoft Exchange, allowing users to share files, communities and other social capabilities directly into the Outlook client. It is available for deployment on-premise, in the IBM SmartCloud, hybrid or on mobile devices, the company adds.

Celina, which had $98.5 million in direct written premium in 2011, has already deployed the software.
"For Celina, being a social business has allowed our team to engage clients and agents so we can build better insurance products. IBM has been at the center of our social transformation," says Rob Shoenfelt, SVP and CIO, Celina Insurance, in a statement. "By integrating messaging into our overall social business offering we have access to powerful new capabilities that let us tap into the collective wisdom of our team and ensure our ability to deliver customers the level of service they demand."
