Glatfelter Selects Insurity
By: Anthony O'Donnell
Seeking a single platform to eliminate workflow redundancies, Glatfelter Insurance Group (York, Pa.) selected Insurity's (Hartford) Intellisys property/casualty policy administration system for underwriting, rating and quote, workflow, and policy issuance functions for approximately $275 million of business.
The Insurity choice comes after a failed attempt by Glatfelter to find a replacement system four years ago, according to Wayne Umland, Glatfelter's executive vice president. Driven by the limitations of an unresponsive system from which extracting information was difficult, Glatfelter "went through the whole selection process again," Umland says.
Guided by research from Celent (Boston) and Gartner (Stamford, Conn.), Glatfelter examined vendors that produce both self-service and full-service offerings, Umland relates. Insurity was chosen, he says, because, "Their architecture provides flexible technology and will allow us to provide retail agents with online access to our system. We'll be even more responsive to agents and brokers, helping them to better serve their customers while reducing costs and improving productivity."
