Delivery Strategies Briefs

--> Travelers is in production with a real-time SEMCI capability. --> The Hartford Financial Services Group has licensed HNC Software Blaze Advisor --> Prudential Financial expands Prudential Xpress to third-party brokers.

Travelers (Hartford) is in production with a real-time single-entry, multiple-carrier interface (SEMCI) capability for quoting personal auto insurance policies. Travelers' application will enable agents to quote an auto insurance policy in real-time directly from their Applied Systems (University Park, IL) agency management system through IVANS' (Old Greenwich, CT) Transformation Station. Travelers also announced a real-time SEMCI technology for large commercial accounts that will enable agents and brokers to electronically transmit large and mid-sized account submission information also through Applied Systems agency management systems and IVANS' Transformation Station.

The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (Hartford) has licensed San Diego-based HNC Software Inc.'s Blaze Advisor to centralize underwriting changes for a variety of P&C insurance application processing systems. With Blaze Advisor, a Java-based business rules management technology, real-time single-entry, multiple-carrier interface (SEMCI) now can be expanded beyond quote—only to include new business issuance and service transactions for customer and agents. Blaze Advisor helps develop, execute and update business applications quickly and gives business experts greater control to make business decisions. The Hartford also announced it has partnered with Charlotte, NC-based Access CoverageCorp to provide SEMCI, real-time Net-based quoting to BB&T Insurance Services (Raleigh, NC) and 10 of the country's largest managing general agents.

Prudential Financial (Newark, NJ) has announced that third party brokers and general agencies can initiate new business with the company through Prudential Xpress, Prudential Financial's Web-based business-to-business platform. Prudential Xpress gives third party distributors tools to market products offered by Pruco Life Insurance Co., a Prudential Financial company, and to initiate business, manage cases online and obtain marketing materials. Distributors can also use the one-page XpressLife Program for Pruco's individual life product portfolio, which can be submitted online.
