San Francisco-based online insurance portal Esurance has teamed with the Ford Motor Co.'s (Dearborn, MI) vehicle insurance program to provide personal insurance to Ford and Lincoln-Mercury customers. The program provides customers with multiple insurance quotes from selected insurance companies, based on a brief series of questions, according to Esurance. Additional benefits of the service are a quick online buying and document generation process, allowing instant access to proof of insurance cards; electronic document storage and ease of online policy change and claims filing.
Liberty Insurance Services Corp. (Greenville, SC) division Genelco Software Solutions has completed a fully integrated marketing subsystem for AGIA, Inc. of Carpinteria, CA, an affinity-based third-party marketer and administrator of life, health and accident insurance. The subsystems, built around the Genelco Group+ technology, electronically enhances AGIA's capability to direct-market individual health insurance to affinity groups that AGIA serves. Genelco Group+ is a comprehensive benefits management application that includes claims adjudication for health plans, new business processing, billing and collection, and agency management, Genelco says. The new subsystem module, delivered to AGIA in the summer of 2002, will subsequently be imbedded into a future release of the base system of Genelco Group+ and available for license.
NationWide Flood Research, Inc (NFRI, Dallas) has launched AtRisk, a three-step marketing service that helps insurance professionals locate potential customers and cross-sell flood policies to existing customers. The first step of AtRisk helps insurance agents identify customers who possibly carry flood insurance with another carrier or are candidates for preferred risk coverage. NFRI does this by executing a privacy agreement and then analyzing an insurance agent's customer database to determine which customers are located in or near special flood hazard areas. A targeted list is then generated which can be mail-merged for direct mailings or imported into contact management software. Using NFRI's TruRisk service, agents can also provide these high-risk customers with maps that depict their property's proximity to flood hazard areas, NFRI says.
