General Casualty Chooses Fiserv AIS Claims Workstation
General Casualty (Sun Prairie, WI, $1.6 billion in assets), a member of the Winterthur Swiss Insurance Group, has chosen the Fiserv AIS Claims Workstation system to streamline claims processing at its home and branch offices. Fiserv Advanced Insurance Solutions (AIS) is a unit of Fiserv, Inc. (West Des Moines, IA).
"General Casualty selected Claims Workstation because we believe it is an excellent investment in the future for handling claims," according to Richard Kuzenski, claims system manager, General Casualty. Fiserv AIS Claims Workstation offers Web access for claims inquiries and notice of loss entry. The system integrates business rules, imaging and work management technology into the claims management process.
General Casualty's license for Claims Workstation is for 450 users, including adjusters, supervisors, clerical staff and legal representatives, says Kennan Burkhardt, sales executive, western region, Fiserv AIS. "Claims Workstation is a client/server-based software solution developed on VisualBasic," she says. "General Casualty has set a target date of the beginning of 2003 to get Claims Workstation into production. Fiserv AIS is working as co-project managers in the implementation and General Casualty is using our resources as well as their own."
General Casualty's Kuzenski says the Fiserv AIS product is the right choice for the regional P&C insurer with 2,000 independent insurance agencies that market its products in 12 Midwestern and eight eastern states. "Claims Workstation will provide new tools to assist our claims handlers and Fiserv AIS is an organization that will be with us as we move into the future," he says.
According to Robert Bruce, president, Fiserv AIS, "Claims Workstation's wide array of tools and strong system administration module help insurers manage claims more intelligently than ever. We look forward to working with General Casualty to help them achieve their claims management goals."
