Midwest Family Mutual Partners with CGI
Midwest Family Mutual Insurance Co. (Minnetonka, Minn.) has agreed to become the beta site for the .NET version of CGI's INSideOUT policy and claims software suite. The new product will incorporate the complete functionality of the INSideOUT solution but will constitute a complete rewrite of the software, according to CGI. The new version is Web-based and incorporates Web 2.0 technology.
By serving as the beta site for the next-generation of INSideOUT, the multi-line personal and commercial P&C lines carrier expects to gain a competitive advantage through superior agent/company interfacing, according to Ron Boyd, president and CEO, Midwest Family. The solution gives the carrier's agents the benefit of electronically submitting policies for all lines of business, as well as their being able to upload and download all new business transactions, endorsements, quotes and issuance for all lines of business, Boyd says.
"Real-time feedback for new business and endorsement quoting will result in a more service-oriented approach for Midwest Family agents," Boyd adds. "The combination of improved functionality and technology will position us as leaders in our market space."
The implementation will begin in May 2008 and is planned for completion in September, according to Larry Stern, vice president of CGI's New England & Insurance Services.
