The Regence Group (Seattle) will deploy Westboro, MA-based Ascential Software Corp.'s DataStage XE software platform to provide data integration and quality management for its first enterprise data warehouse, called REWARDS (REgence WArehouse, Reporting and Decision Support).

SHERWOOD CHOSEN

Sherwood International (Armonk, NY) has entered into a multi-million dollar license and implementation agreement with Chicago-based TransGuard Insurance of America. TransGuard will use Sherwood's FrontTier processing and workflow management application and ProCede reinsurance solutions to automate its business operations and enterprise systems.

SYBASE WINS GUARDIAN

The Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America (New York) selected Sybase, Inc.'s (Dublin, CA) Sybase Industry Warehouse Studio as its core data warehousing infrastructure.

G-W TAPS COHORTS

Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Co. (Greenwood Village, CO) will use technology from Denver-based Cohorts to help analyze a test-sized sample of the company's customer portfolio. Great-West will use Cohorts Proof of Concept (POC) to identify key customers in the test group, including purchasing habits and lifestyles.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island (Providence) has selected SAFLINK's (Bellevue, WA) SAFmodule, a biometric fingerprint authentication solution for Novel Modular Authentication Service (NMAS), to secure an enterprise-level computer security system.

MCCAMISH/CANADA LIFE

Toronto-based Canada Life Assurance Co.'s US Division will use McCamish Systems' (Atlanta) VPAS 3.2, a client/server-based annuity and life processing system, to expand its presence in the variable universal life insurance marketplace.

Sun Life Financial (Toronto) is using NaviSys, Inc.'s (Edison, NJ) NaviSys Home Office payouts to support the payout phase of the immediate, variable and fixed annuity products offered by its subsidiary, Keyport Life Insurance Co.

PRU USES TRADERTOOLS

PFS TraderTools LLC, a New York-based provider of middleware technology, signed a global license agreement with Prudential Financial, Inc. (Newark, NJ), for PFS's DS2000 Publish-Subscribe messaging technology. Prudential will use the technology to deliver streaming real-time market prices, calculated FX and money market rates, research notes and commentaries over a Web browser.
