Clare DeNicola will oversee IVANS, Inc.'s (Old Greenwich, CT) newly created Networking Solutions Division as senior vice president, network solutions and sales. IVANS created the new division as part of a new company strategy to focus on developing and implementing managed network solutions for the insurance industry. Operating as a separate, autonomous unit from the IVANS Industry E-Commerce Services Division, IVANS networking specialists will focus on how to help insurance organizations build robust, reliable network designs. DeNicola joined IVANS in 1996 and served most recently as vice president of sales.
RiskClick, a London-based software provider of collaborative commerce solutions for the global risk management and insurance industry, appointed Harvey Rand as vice president of sales. Rand, who joins the company from Alterna Technologies Group, will be responsible for Riskclick's global sales operation based out of New York and will focus on extending the business across existing and new markets.
Longtime insurance technology executive Bob Nelson died on June 1 of pancreatic cancer. For the past 10 years Nelson was an executive at Pinkerton Computer Consultants (Plymouth Meeting, PA). He also was a member of the IASA Membership Committee. Nelson (who also worked as a high school, college and minor and major league baseball umpire) is survived by his wife Diane; a son, Robert H. 3d; a daughter, Brooke; his mother Suzanne; and a brother and sister.
Lloyd's of London announced that Lord Peter Levene of Portsoken will be the next chairman of the market. He currently is vice chairman of Deutsche Bank London. Levene will be the first chairman in Lloyd's 314-year history to be selected from outside the London-based insurance market. He will succeed Sax Riley, who is retiring later this year.
