Regional P&C carrier Ohio Mutual Insurance Group (Bucyrus, Ohio; more than $120 million in annual premium) reports significant gains in the wake of its implementation of CSC's (Austin, Texas) POINT IN Policy Administration and Advanced Claims solution components. The carrier claims it has enjoyed a 13 percent increase in staff productivity over the previous year, among other benefits.
"We've also reduced staff turnover by 28 percent, due in part to CSC's user-friendly software," asserted Jim Kennedy, president, Ohio Mutual Insurance Group, in a release. "By choosing CSC to modernize our policy administration and claims systems, we now have the power to react quickly to market opportunities and are positioned for the future."
The policy administration component of the software provides the carrier with an integrated and paperless system for major insurance functions, including rating, underwriting, reinsurance, and billing and collection. The claims component automates claim assignment and tracking. Through these combined capabilities, Ohio Mutual is able to provide its staff and distributors access to more-timely and more-accurate data on policies and claims in a single, collaborative environment, according to CSC.
Aided by the automation improvements provided by the solution, Ohio Mutual was able to log its largest annual net operating profit in the company's 104-year history, according to a joint statement from the carrier and the vendor.
