Standards: Beyond The Rhetoric

Overview of Insurance Standards Leadership Forum, "Business Strategies for Industry Transformation," a one-day educational/networking event co-produced by Insurance & Technology and ACORD.

Debate over insurance standards—how to implement them, the best ways to facilitate the process, effective application development environments, competitive considerations—has dominated industry discussions recently. In today's competitive financial services environment, insurers recognize they cannot achieve customer service and transaction goals without widely accepted industry-specific standards.

Executives who want to move beyond the debate to real-world solutions, best practices and successful implementation can achieve these goals at the Insurance Standards Leadership Forum, "Business Strategies for Industry Transformation," a one-day educational/networking event co-produced by Insurance & Technology and ACORD on Sept. 18, 2002, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

The Insurance Standards Leadership Forum will combine a high-level conference program with interactive workshops focused on line-of-business standards issues. Among the topics to be addressed are The Business Case for Standards—The Foundation for Growth and Success; Web Services: Unlocking the Potential; Collaboration Within the Industry To Ensure Success; and Best Practices in XML. Additionally, attendees will be able to review leading-edge technology solutions from sponsors including Microsoft, Blaze Advisor from HNC, SAP and Sun Microsystems.

"The Insurance Standards Leadership Forum will provide insurance technology leaders with the insights, resources, and roadmap needed to get payback from standards initiatives," notes Kathy Burger, editorial director, I&T. "By partnering with ACORD, the insurance industry's nonprofit standards developer, we will be able to tap into the most innovative and successful players in industry standards, offering true value and ROI to all Leadership Forum participants."
